The pilot scale Biazzi plant is a 100 L reactor capable of withstanding pressures of up to 40 bar and which is routinely utilised in the production of small-scale high-value products. All equipment has been designed, installed and maintained in accordance with cGMP.

The SPP also doubles as a pilot plant when industrialisation feasibility studies for new and existing projects are required. Notable features include; variable reactor capacity and layout (0.25 – 1 m3), dedicated thermal oil heating/cooling system, boxed centrifuges for different batch sizes (SS/Halar, ϕ = 500 mm/800 mm).
Technologies include; clean-rooms supplied with filtered air by HVAC system, stainless steel driers (1 – 2.4 m3) with dedicated vacuum systems up to full vacuum, boxed centrifuges (stainless steel and halar) with HVAC air filtration systems, blending and granulation equipment, milling and sieving equipment, jet mill micronisation (small and large scale).
